Self-locking stainless steel banding straps are pre-formed stainless steel ties designed to secure pipe insulation, jacketing, and lagging on pipes from ½” to 24″ diameter — without requiring a separate buckle, wing seal, or tensioning tool. The strap feeds through its own locking head and locks permanently in one pull, making them the fastest field-fastening method for both new construction and retrofit insulation work.
EcoIn’s self-locking stainless steel banding straps are manufactured from SUS 304 and SUS 316 stainless steel strip, precision-stamped to ±0.05 mm width tolerance. The locking heads are formed in-line during production, giving a consistent lock force across every piece in the batch.
SUS 316 (2–3% Mo) variants are specified for coastal, marine, and chemical plant environments where chloride-induced pitting would cause standard 304 banding to fail within 12 months.
We offer two locking styles: a clip lock for narrow widths (4.6 mm, 7.9 mm) used with lightweight blanket insulation, and a box-buckle profile for wide widths (12 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm) used with rigid pipe sections and heavy jacketing. Clip-lock also can be used in 12mm to 19mm.
EcoIn self-locking banding straps are a direct factory-produced to the ASTM A480 and ASTM C1767 dimensional standards at a significantly lower FOB cost. All sizes ship from Ningbo with standard export documentation including mill test certificates (MTC) and CO.

- Self-Locking in One Pull — No Tools, No Buckles
Each of these stainless steel banding straps threads through the locking head and locks automatically under tension. No wing-seal tool, separate buckles, or crimper is needed, cutting field installation time by 30–40% versus traditional buckle-and-seal systems. - SUS 316 Option with 2–3% Molybdenum
Standard 304 banding begins to pit in marine and chloride-rich environments within 12–18 months. SUS 316 resists chloride attack up to 1,000 ppm Cl⁻, making it the correct choice for coastal pipework, offshore platforms, and chemical process lines. - Wide Temperature Range: −80 °C to +538 °C
Stainless steel retains its mechanical properties across cryogenic service (LNG, liquid nitrogen) through to high-temperature steam and exhaust insulation. Unlike plastic cable ties, there is no upper limit creep or cold-temperature brittleness. - Two Locking Profiles for Different Insulation Types
Hook-lock (4.6–10 mm) for blanket insulation and lightweight lagging. Box-buckle (12–19 mm) for rigid pipe sections, mineral wool, and heavy aluminum jacketing. Both deliver secure, tamper-evident fastening. - Pre-Formed Loop Option for Large-Diameter Pipe
For pipe diameters ≥ 4″ (100 mm), straps can be supplied pre-formed to a specified loop diameter, eliminating on-site shaping and reducing waste on large tank or vessel insulation projects. - Compatible with Industry-Standard Banding Tools
Dimensionally equivalent to Band-It Ball-Lok (4.6 mm, 7.9 mm) and Hellermann Tyton MBT series. Existing tensioners and cut-off tools work without modification. - Mill Test Certificate (MTC) Included
Each batch ships with MTC showing chemical composition (C, Mn, Si, Cr, Ni, Mo) and mechanical properties. Required by most EPC contractors and end-user specifications. - FOB Factory Pricing, Samples Available
Sample order (200–500 pcs) available to verify fit before production run. Production MOQ: 1,000 kgs ( pcs depends on sizes). FOB Ningbo / Shanghai.
- Pipe Insulation Banding — ½” to 24″ Pipe Diameter
The primary use case. These stainless steel banding straps hold mineral wool, fiberglass, calcium silicate, and foam glass pipe sections in place during and after jacketing. 19 mm straps handle tank insulation on vessels up to 6 m diameter. - Industrial HVAC and Duct Insulation
12 mm and 16 mm widths are specified for securing insulation on rectangular and round ductwork in commercial HVAC systems, where vibration from fans and air pressure differentials require a positive-lock fastener. - Offshore and Marine Pipework
SUS 316 straps are used on offshore platform piping, subsea umbilical bundling, and ship engine-room insulation where salt spray and condensation would corrode standard 304 within one maintenance cycle. - Chemical and Petrochemical Plant Insulation
Process lines carrying acids, chlorinated solvents, or seawater cooling require SUS 316. Common applications include column insulation, reactor vessel wrapping, and heat exchanger pipe saddles in refineries and LNG terminals. - Exhaust and High-Temperature Insulation Blankets
Narrow hook-lock straps (4.6 mm, 7.9 mm) secure ceramic fiber blankets and removable insulation jackets on exhaust manifolds, turbine casings, and fired-heater piping where temperatures exceed 400 °C. - Outdoor Cable and Conduit Bundling
UV-stable stainless steel straps replace plastic cable ties in outdoor electrical installations, solar farms, and telecom tower cable management where UV exposure degrades nylon within 3–5 years. - Cryogenic Insulation (LNG, Liquid Nitrogen Lines)
At −80 °C and below, stainless steel remains ductile while plastic and aluminum alternatives become brittle. Specified for LNG regasification plant piping and cryogenic storage vessel insulation.
