Glass Wool Insulation FAQ

Glass wool insulation rolls produced in EcoIn factory China

Glass wool insulation is a fibrous thermal and acoustic insulation made from molten glass spun into fine fibers — the same material known as fiberglass insulation in North America. Its low thermal conductivity (typically 0.032–0.044 W/m·K) makes it one of the most cost-effective insulation materials for buildings and HVAC systems.

EcoIn produces glass wool blankets (rolls), boards, pipe insulation sections, needle mats, spray glass wool, formaldehyde-free glass wool and white glass wool, with optional FSK or aluminum foil facing. As a direct glass wool manufacturer, we support custom density, thickness and packaging.

Yes. EcoIn glass wool insulation is an inorganic, Grade A non-combustible material. Product quality is approved by ISO and SGS, and for the North American market our products are certified to CAN/ULC S702, CAN/ULC S102 and UL standards.

Typical density ranges from 10 to 96 kg/m³ and thickness from 25 to 200 mm. Our engineers can recommend the right specification of glass wool insulation for walls, roofs, HVAC ducts or industrial pipework based on your target R-value.

Order directly from the factory — MOQ starts from 50 rolls. See our glass wool price guide or request a quote; our team replies with factory-direct pricing and shipping options to North America within 24 hours.

Glass wool insulation typically delivers around R-2.2 to R-3.0 per inch, depending on density. Higher-density boards reach higher R-values per inch, while economical light-density rolls suit large wall and ceiling areas. Tell us your target R-value and application, and our engineers will specify the most cost-effective combination of density and thickness.

Glass wool is lighter and more economical, ideal for walls, roofs and HVAC ducts. Rock wool is denser, withstands higher temperatures and adds acoustic and fire performance for industrial pipework and fire-rated assemblies. EcoIn manufactures both, so you can source the right material for each part of your project from one factory.

Rolls are vacuum-compressed and boards are palletized to maximize container loading and reduce freight cost per square meter. We ship FOB or CIF to major US and Canadian ports, with export documentation and CAN/ULC and UL certification paperwork included for customs clearance.

Glass Wool Insulation — Overview

EcoIn’s glass wool insulation is manufactured from recycled glass fibres bonded with thermosetting resin, producing a lightweight, flexible product for walls, roofs, industrial pipes, and HVAC ductwork. Our glass wool insulation spans densities of 10–96 kg/m³, covering thermal and acoustic applications across residential and industrial sectors.

All glass wool insulation products are Grade A non-combustible, certified to CAN/ULC S702, CAN/ULC S102, and UL standards for North America, as well as CE marking and SGS reports for European export. Glass wool has been a globally trusted insulation material for over 70 years due to its low thermal conductivity (λ ≥ 0.031 W/m·K) and excellent fire resistance rating.
