There are mainly 5 differences between PE coating and Polysurlyn coating aluminum roll jacketing:
1. The material is different. PE is simple one layer of polyethylene, while polysurlyn has 4 layers:
1st layer: UV protection film
2nd layer: Color
3rd layer: PE film
4th layer: Dupont Surlyn
2. The function is different. PE film is just to prevent scratches, it can’t stop moisture. While polysurlyn film is a good moisture barrier. It protects the aluminium coil from corrosion.
3. PE film is easy to tear off. Polysurlyn film is heat applied to aluminum roll jacketing and not easy to tear off.
4. The cost of applying PE film is RMB100/ton, while applying polysurlyn film is RMB4200/ton in average.
5. The apperance is difference. PE is transparent blue or white. Polysurlyn film is not transparent.
